New Look For IM.com Launches

Yep, this is still the blog of Ian Mikutel.  But if you've come in the past you may not realize that, given the huge overhaul in design that's taken place here today.

This new design achieves the look and feel that I want—simplicity.  The wider pages take advantage of larger monitors and resolutions, something anyone with a wide screen monitor should appreciate.

The sidebar to your right allows you to Subscribe to the blog via email or RSS, connect with me via all the places I'm in on the web (like Twitter), features popular posts, latest video posts, latest Tweets, Nike+ running stats, and my personal bookshelf.

You'll also notice the logo sports a new tag line, "Tech, Politics, Health & Ideas Worth Discussing".  While in the past the blog has covered the first three topics, the last bit is something new.  Anyone who knows me in real life or through online networks like Twitter or The Wiire Podcast understands how my brain works.  I've always got 1,000 ideas racing through my head at any given moment.  This blog will be my repository, my breeding ground for sharing those ideas and in turn, looking to the community for discussion on them.  After all, that's what the internet medium is all about—not just the exchange of ideas, but the discussion and advancement of them through online communities.

So please, browse through the new site and see what it has to offer.  If you're a first time visitor, read through my archives.

If you're a returning visitor, look for a ton of new posts in the coming days as I ramp up to daily postings on a variety of topics.  And whomever you are, connect with me via Digg, Pownce, Twitter, Del.icio.us, YouTube, Flickr, Last.fm, Seesmic and Shelfari by clicking any of the links on the sidebar.
